Carine Vier joined PIC in September 2019 as a nutrition specialist. Carine is responsible for the implementation of PIC nutrition recommendations to ensure that customers realize the genetic potential of PIC products. She is also providing management and oversight of nutrition-oriented research trials globally.
Carine is originally from Brazil where she earned a Veterinary Medicine degree at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul in 2016. She then obtained a Ph.D. degree from Kansas State University with a focus in Applied Swine Nutrition and Applied Statistics. Her dissertation focused on updating the calcium and phosphorus requirements of modern genotype pigs under commercial conditions, the stability of different phytase sources, as well as other applied production management strategies and the reproducibility of research results. Carine is currently living in Hendersonville, TN.
