Keith is a native of Kentucky, finishing his secondary education in Georgia. He received his Bachelor's degree in Animal Science from Auburn University. He earned his Master's and Ph.D. degrees from Texas A&M University under the directions of Drs. T.D. Tanksley and Darrel Knabe. Dr. Haydon was a faculty member of the University of Georgia rising to the rank of Associate Professor, prior to joining Carl S. Akey Company. There he served as Research Manager, where his team and colleagues conducted early research into AA ratio to lysine ratio by swine life cycle stages. They developed the first lysine to calorie ratio curves for modern swine genetics, specialty nursery feeds for SEW pigs and worked in providing nutrition services to the first Midwestern integrated pork producers. Keith joined Hearltand Pork Enterprises, a large swine producers (60,000 sows) in Iowa serving as Director of Nutrition and Research. There, Dr. Haydon managed the nutrition programs, research farm, feed mills and develop some of the early data analytics in factors impacting swine profitability. Keith served on the Technical Services teams at both Phibro Animal Nutrition and Health and Elanco. Keith currently serves as the Director of Technical Services and Marketing for CJ America - Bio, CJ is a leading global amino acid producer and suppiler to the livestock and aquaculture industries. CJ America-Bio team is actively involved in furthering amino acid nutrition knowledge through research for both the US poultry and swine industries.
