Lluís Fabà; DVM and PhD in swine nutrition working as researcher for Trouw Nutrition R&D, Veerstraat 38, 5831 JN, Boxmeer, The Netherlands. Lluís has 9 year experience in swine research and has published 11 peer-reviewed papers and >15 scientific communications at international conferences on various pig topics. His experience includes knowledge of raw material and feed variability, management and nutrition of the growing gilt and the productive sow, infections of PRRSV, Salmonella, E. coli, Lawsonia intracellularis and their relationship with the nutritional status of the pig and/or the use of dietary strategies. In his current position as researcher and for the pas 2 years he works on piglet nutrition during the nursery phase with a special focus on two main topics: 1) the relationship between gastrointestinal physiology and feeding behaviour in the gut brain axis, and 2) the gastrointestinal physiology and risk for infectious disease.
