Brandon Nuttelman graduated from Nebraska College of Technical Agriculture in 2004, and Oklahoma Panhandle State University in Goodwell, OK in 2006. He graduated with his M.S. in 2009 from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln specializing in Ruminant nutrition, and in 2013 he graduated with his Ph.D. from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. During his time at UNL, his research included protein and energy supplementation for growing steers, grazing management in cow/calf pairs, and determining the effect that drying distillers grains plus solubles has on the feeding value in finishing diets. From 2009 – 2013 he was the Feedlot Research Coordinator at UNL. His responsibilities included managing the beef feedlot and grazing research, developing research protocols and SOP’s, evaluating trial results, and assisting graduate students with research collection and analysis. Since 2014, he has worked for Merck Animal Health as a Technical Services Nutritionist. In this role he works with feedlots in the Midwest to implement growth-promoting technologies and management practices that optimize carcass gain and feedlot efficiency. Additionally he assists cow/calf and stocker operations with their management decisions. He resides in Amherst, NE with his wife and four children. They also have a commercial cow/calf and stocker operation.
