Born in Korea, Yeonwoo Kim has lived in North Carolina since he was nine years old. He is an intensely passionate person who has a great affection for animals. His deep love for animals and desire to improve their lives led him to pursue his childhood dream of becoming a veterinarian. He continued his education at the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign after graduating from high school, where he majored in animal science. He actively participated in the Stein monogastric laboratory throughout his undergraduate studies, where he learned how to prepare and analyze materials. Yeonwoo's interest in animal nutrition increased as he studied more. Realizing the need for a comprehensive approach to animal welfare, he decided to pursue doctoral studies in Animal Nutrition at the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign. He is a graduate student at the Stein Lab right now. His scholarly endeavors are a reflection of his awareness that there are other ways to improve the lives of animals besides becoming a veterinarian. Yeonwoo hopes to gain an in-depth understanding of how nutrition is essential to improving the health and well-being of animals through his research and studies. As he continues to make strides in his academic and professional endeavors, Yeonwoo remains steadfast in his commitment to contributing meaningfully to the betterment of both animal and human lives.
